It's going to be a long, hot August. The September 18th Talk Shop awaits your free-ranging questions, comments, and observations on problems you encounter in your translation, editing, or writing endeavors! Bring (or submit ahead of time to secure an attention slot) any kind of translation or editing predicament: cultural-divide issues, complicated syntax, looong sentences, ambiguity, ethnic or gender bias challenges, register or dialect hurdles... Even "What does this mean?!" is a valid question. Feel free to bring examples of problems you've already solved if you feel the group could benefit from wrangling with them. We'll discuss strategies for coping with knotty situations, finessing what seem like impossible dilemmas, and providing professional answers to the challenges clients present. SWET Talk Shop is for wordsmiths who want to talk shop.
