Job description
Initially part-time - Opportunity for full-time position. Successful applicants will be chiefly responsible for ensuring native level understanding of English source text for translation projects into Japanese. They would work with experienced Japanese translators and editors with key tasks as follows:
• Review translations highlighting possible mistakes in the Japanese translation based on a native level understanding of the English;
• Preview documents to identify and clarify English that non-native speakers may misunderstand.
• Answer questions from Japanese translators and editors.
The position is an opportunity for experienced translators or editors to enhance their skills in financial translation. Elanex offers competitive remuneration and flexible working arrangements.
Requirements:
• Native level English and excellent command of written Japanese
• Some financial background, excellent language skills, understanding of sophisticated journalistic writing
• Must work well as a team member. The job will require constant interaction with translators and editors who are working under tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work in Tokyo on occasion (2 to 3 times a month).
