SWET Summer Celebrations

Date: July 26, 2008 (Sat.) for both events

SWET will celebrate summer with two events: a daytime tea gathering at the beautiful landscape garden, Rikugien, in Komagome; and an evening party at the Garden Island Beer Restaurant, Prince Hotel Tokyo/Shinagawa.

Reading: Arthur Binard presents Poetry in English and Japanese

Exhibit: Bilingual Printing and Layout

Time: 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Fee: 3,000 yen
Gather in the elegant Shinsentei tea house on the grounds of Rikugien, overlooking the centuries-old landscape garden created to entertain shoguns, to enjoy a simple bento lunch and tea.

Translator, poet, and writer Arthur Binard will read poetry in Japanese and English from his most recent book and other publications. Reading will be at 1:00 p.m.

A small collection of books and periodicals printed in both Japanese and English will be on display.
