The following announcement was just sent to the SWET announcements list:
The SWET Steering Committee has decided that dues must be raised to 6,000
yen per year. SWET dues were last increased in 1992, to 5,000 yen. The dues
increase will be effective January 1st, 2010; renewals until Dec. 31st may
be made at the 5,000 yen per year rate. SWET calls on its members to support
the organization and encourage interested colleagues and associates to join.
Multiple-year membership renewals are welcome. Please see the website for

If you are a member and would like to lock in the current rate for membership dues for a few more years, please consider renewing before the end of this year.
If you are not yet a member, but have been thinking of joining SWET, please consider doing so now, before membership dues increase.
