Over eight years of experience operating a marketing and public relations company that serves organizations with multinational interests. Clientele have included Dentsu, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Sony Music Communications, Renesas Corporation, Japan Hewlett-Packard Corporation, Asian Development Bank Institute, Japan & International Movie Copyrights Association, and academic institutions (see website at www.gli.co.jp). Seven-and-one-half years in the Advertising Dept. of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation headquarters, Tokyo, Japan, via contract with the company’s in-house ad agency (AD.MELCO) Responsibilities included advertising, public relations and corporate communications services such as: planning and implementation of mid and long-term corporate/brand image strategies and internal corporate communications programs, and publication of in-house newsletter, quarterly technology journal and global homepage. Other activities included training directors and employees for dispatch to overseas offices (e.g., language training and cultural acclimatization courses); authoring presidential announcements, speeches, R&D reports and press releases; participating in and supervising the production of brochures, videos, CDs, DVDs and other marketing tools prepared for corporate image and product promotions; and serving as a liaison for clients and dignitaries visiting from various countries. Four-and-one-half years of corporate communications and public relations experience working for a subsidiary of Honda Motor Company. Prepared R&D reports, presentations and speeches for engineers and executive directors. Worked extensively on a one-on-one basis with Japanese engineers in the transfer of technologies from racecars to passenger cars. Prepared extensive documentation for establishment of overseas production facilities (in USA and UK) as well as a sales network for a new passenger car series. Assisted in the establishment of a translation and interpretation training center for the company’s USA operations. Two years of administrative and accounting experience in the hotel industry. Participated in planning of fiscal budgets in preparation for property expansion. Supervised a staff of 55 personnel in four departments, completed monthly bookkeeping and audited financial transactions. Five years of administrative experience at a window manufacturing company.
