Proofreading: A SWET Professional Skills Workshop

Workshop conducted by Becky Davis - Tokyo, 11 October 2003

We arrived with dictionaries, some corrected worksheets and a sense that we basically understood the mechanics of the English language and typesetting. We left with a type ruler, a red and a blue erasable pencil (and an eraser), a sheaf of beautifully presented, useful material based on the years of experience accumulated by SWET founder Becky Davis as a pioneering proofreader and typographer in Japan, as well as (in the case of this writer, at least) a sense that what we thought we knew before the workshop was totally inadequate.
