Japan Writers Conference Update

Date: October 24 and 25, 2015
Place: Kobe Women's University, Suma Campus

The organizers of the Japan Writers Conference report that they received a great selection of presentation proposals again this year and promise a full and stimulating event, with new topics, new faces, and several panel discussions on all sorts of things.

Announcement as of July 20, 2015:

If you submitted a proposal and you haven’t heard back from John Gribble in the last couple of weeks, please contact us now! Once in a while, someone falls through the cracks. It would be a shame for us to overlook your good idea because of our mistake or because an email didn’t arrive. Now, let's move on to two items of business.

First, David Gilbey will return to lead his poetry workshop. This is the one session that requires preregistration, as you will be exchanging work with the other participants. If you wish to be part of this group or to learn more about it, contact David directly.

Second: hotels. There are no hotels near the campus. We will be using public busing to the school. Further, in town there aren’t a lot of extra rooms available. If you know you want to come, book now. Kobe can be a little expensive as well, so consider sharing a room. Yes, we know that’s way off at the end of October and that this is only the middle of July. But in fact, it isn’t that far away.

As we put together the program and schedule, we will keep you informed and post the information on the website. We look forward to having you join us for another great writing event.
